Basic Facts test

For my basic facts test I got 74 it is my highest score all of my other scores were like 61 64 and 59

yellow hat:I think that this score was really cool because it was my highest

Black hat:I think I could do better by getting up to 80

Cheese Writing

This is my cheese writing it is about inventions with cheese so I have made a story about how cool it would be if you had a cheese couch. My second paragraph is about a security system for your room because teenagers / young adults need there privacy. so we had to write to paragraphs about cheese inventions for the fair go ad awards.

This is my flash facts graph.

WOW 3 / infomation about what Mr Ward and Mr Phillips told us.

This term we are learng about eco friendly homes/buildings so Mr Phillips came and told us on what so eco friendly things you could do to make your home/building Eco friendly and here they are…

That you could put lower ceilings in your building to make it warmer this is how well if you have higher ceilings all the heat will rise but if you lower your ceilings the heat will rise but it will be closer to the floor.

That HRV’s are bad because if you have smoke in your house the HRV sysyem will spread it throug out the building.

North facing window will give you more heat and more sunlight.

Tinted windows are good because it will let hot air in but not out.

Aluminum window frames are bad because they let warm air out and causes condensation.

Mr Ward infomation about FIL

There is a spill plant underneath the FIL building because if there is a spill of chemicals the spill plant will catch it all.

They use sunlight to brighten the building but if the sunlight is’nt bright enough the lights will automatically turn on to what they are meant to.

Because every time you use water it costs in a company building so they have put two 30,000 litre tanks outside to catch the rain water and so the use that instead.

The plants in the building is watered by air condition units moisture.

They recycle oil to heat the buildings up.

Formal vs Informal.

This is my formal vs informal it is about when it snowed in Taranaki/My house and how it was pretty cool because it was in the holidays and we can spend all day outside and play in the snow.

YELLOW HAT :WALT-Know the difference between formal and informal-I have used colloquial words in my informal paragraphs and did not use colloquial words in the formals paragraph this important because if you have colloquial words in your formal paragraph it wont be formals at all

BLACK HAT:WALT-to use nice long sentences for the formal paragraph-I could of used longer sentences in the formals paragraph and maybe use some contrations to make it more informal.

Holiday writing:

This is my holiday writing about when I cut my finger cutting cheese and about the big day out me and my friend Krissie were doing just one day after I cut my finger we were going to go to Wanganui and got the bee house and the Mcdonalds for lunch and after that we were going to go to the pools and I was’nt sure my finger would handle being in the chlorine at the pools but… it did luckily!!

YELLOW HAT- WALT-use 5 senses to set the scene- I have used 5 scenes in my writing this is important because you get an mental image in your head.

BLACK HAT-WALT-use bullet points in our planning-next time I could make my planning a bit  better by doing better bullet points.

This week for my work of the week is my writing about this competition we did in room 1 we had to see who could last the longest on the playground it was Josh

WOW 8/MATHS

For my work of the week 8 is my maths. I it is tidy numbers for example:

1)26+ 34=60       26+30=56+4=60      2)55-27=28           55-20=35-5=30-2=38               3)1,642-879=721            1,642-600=1,042-200=842-42=800-70=730-9=721          

I did my tidy numbers because I think that I did well with my tidy numbers.

On Tuesday Mr Stoddart came to room 1 and we did self portraits of our self doing something we like doing I picked netball.this is my art work.Why I picked this was because I think I did well with the details in the face and in the hair.

I could improve by trying to get 74/100 ,10 more from 64.
